Buttonwillow, CA – A 57-year-old man was killed early Saturday morning after his bicycle was rear-ended by a vehicle along Highway 46 in Buttonwillow, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at around 5:40 a.m. on April 6, 2024, on Highway 46 Near Lost Hills Road.
According to the CHP, the driver of a Chevrolet was heading westbound on Highway 46 behind a bicyclist, who was riding along the right asphalt shoulder.
For some reason, the driver steered the vehicle directly towards the bicycle and rear-ended it.
The cyclist was ejected from the bicycle and sustained fatal injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
