Lynwood, Wash. – 83-year-old Trudy Slanger has been identified as the woman killed in a wrong-way collision on Highway 525 in Lynwood Thursday night.

The collision happened at around 8 p.m. on April 11 on the northbound State Route 525 at 148th Street.

Slanger was pronounced dead at the crash site.

The suspect 37-year-old man and a woman,34, who had been kidnapped were hospitalized at Harborview and Providence Medical Centres respectively.

Lynwood, WA – At least one person died in a wrong-way collision that happened Thursday evening on SR-525 in Lynwood, the Washington State Patrol said.

The wreck took place around 8 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway at 148th Street SW.

At least two vehicles, including one that was traveling in the wrong direction, were involved in the collision.

WSP said at least one person died in the accident.

Investigators closed both northbound and southbound lanes of the highway following the crash. Traffic on northbound SR-525 was diverted to Alderwood Mall Parkway, and southbound traffic to .

The report said before the collision, Snohomish County Sheriff's deputies were chasing the wrong-way driver for first-degree assault domestic violence, and kidnapping of an adult. The victim was in the suspect's car at the time of the accident. The deputies stopped the chase when the suspect started driving the wrong way.
