A preliminary investigation indicated that two drivers of newer model Chevrolet Camaros, one white and one black, were allegedly involved in an illegal street race heading southbound before the white Camaro collided with multiple vehicles

Bakersfield, CA.– Authorities are investigating a multi-vehicle collision caused by an illegal street racing at an intersection in Bakersfield Monday evening.
According to the police report, the wreck happened at around 6:53 p.m. on April 22 at Old River Road and White Lane.
A preliminary investigation indicated that two drivers of newer model Chevrolet Camaros, one white and one black, were allegedly involved in an illegal street race heading southbound before the white Camaro collided with multiple vehicles.
Four people, including one minor, suffered minor injuries and were rushed to a hospital for treatment.
The driver of the white Camaro, Meylin Rosi Barrera, 19, remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
After Barrera was medically cleared at a hospital, she was arrested for charges related to participation in an illegal speed contest, reckless driving, and child endangerment. It's unknown what vehicle had the child in it at this time.
