Jose Monsalve Rojas, 46, was involved in a crash on Hooper Avenue and 46th Street at around 6:10 a.m. on April 24.

Reportedly, Rojas was struck by a vehicle that was being pursued by the police officers. The vehicle then struck multiple vehicles before coming to rest on its roof.

The suspect tried to flee but was immediately taken into custody by police.

Rojas was declared dead at the crash site.

According to the authorities, the wreck happened at around 6:10 a.m. on Hooper Avenue and 46th Street.

The incident started when the police pursued a motorist who struck a on the roadway before it overturned on its roof.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
