A car was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when it lost control and collided into a semi-truck stopped on the right shoulder.

Oceanside, CA. – One person died in a crash involving a big rig that happened Thursday night near Camp Pendleton, the California Highway Patrol said.
CHP officers were notified about the collision just before 9 p.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway near Cockleburr Road.
The accident involved a sedan and a semi-truck.
The sedan was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and collided with a big rig that was stopped on the right shoulder.
Responding emergency personnel requested a helicopter to respond to the scene and airlift at least one person to the hospital.
The report said one person was killed in the crash. It was not clear if the deceased was the one who was to be airlifted or if it was another victim.
The freeway was shut down following the collision.
