San Ysidro, CA – One person was hospitalized after a crash in San Ysidro early Saturday morning, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The accident took place in the 1800 block of Howard Avenue at about 3:50 a.m.
Police said a 22-year-old man was driving northbound on Howard Avenue when he fell asleep and collided head-on with an oncoming Toyota 4Runner.
A passenger in the Toyota was rushed to a hospital with a fractured thoracic vertebrae.
No further details were released.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
