According to the CHP, a man was attempting to run southbound across all eastbound lanes of the highway when he was hit by a 2010 Honda driven by a 21-year-old Bakersfield woman

Bakersfield, CA – A man was hit and killed by a vehicle on a Highway 58 off-ramp in Bakersfield on Saturday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident happened at about 1:15 p.m. April 27 on the Highway 58 off-ramp to Union Avenue.
According to the CHP, a man was attempting to run southbound across all eastbound lanes of the highway when he was hit by a 2010 Honda driven by a 21-year-old Bakersfield woman.
The victim, whose name was not released, died in the incident.
The driver was unhurt and stayed at the scene.
CHP said alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the crash.
The incident is under investigation.
