Bend, OR. – Authorities have identified the motorcyclist killed in a traffic collision on Highway 20 in Bend Thursday afternoon.
Chad Jeremy Bernhardt, 48, of Bend was killed in a crash on Highway 20 near Northeast Dalton Street at around 1 p.m.
The police said a 46-year-old Bend man, who was the driver of the car involved, was arrested on suspicion of DUI, second-degree manslaughter, reckless driving, and reckless endangering.
He was booked into Deschutes County jail.

Bend, OR. – A motorcycle rider was killed in a traffic collision on Highway 20 in Bend Thursday afternoon.
According to the authorities, the crash happened at around 1 p.m. on State Route 20 near Northeast Dalton Street.
Reports indicated that a green GMC Envoy made an illegal left turn out of the Stonebriar apartment and collided with a motorcycle.
The rider was pronounced dead at the crash site.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
The incident impacted the roadway for about an hour.
An investigation to determine the cause of the crash is ongoing.
