Los Angeles, CA. – Authorities are investigating a traffic collision involving a pedestrian on West Venice Boulevard in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The incident was reported at 4738 West Venice Boulevard, east of La Brea Avenue.
Responding crews said two vehicles and a pedestrian were involved in the wreck. However, how the incident occurred was not immediately established.
One person had been trapped in the crash and firefighters used hydraulic tools to extricate the victim.
It was unclear whether the trapped victim was an occupant in the car or a pedestrian.
Six people were injured in the accident. Five people were rushed to the hospitals, including two women ages 51 and 62, who were listed in critical condition.
The officers said a 51-year-old man sustained serious injuries, a 40-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl suffered moderate injuries while the sixth victim, a 46-year-old man had minor injuries and refused to be transported.
