A southbound 2019 white Chevy Express operated by Michael Jager, 44, of Lynden on Guide Meridian Road hit a female pedestrian standing on the roadway in unclear circumstances.
Whatcom County, WA. – A 31-year-old woman was struck and killed in a pedestrian crash on Smith Road in Whatcom County early Friday morning.
According to the Washington State Police, the wreck happened at around 3:30 a.m. on Smith Road and Guide Meridian Road.
A southbound 2019 white Chevy Express operated by Michael Jager, 44, of Lynden on Guide Meridian Road hit a female pedestrian standing on the roadway in unclear circumstances.
The woman was pronounced dead at the crash site.
Jager remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The name of the deceased was withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
The incident impacted the roadway until mid-morning.
An investigation is ongoing.
