The 16-year-old Hesperia boy who was driving the Jeep and his front passenger were unhurt

Apple Valley, CA. – 32-year-old Chad Cahill has been identified as the man who died in a car crash on Sunday afternoon in Apple Valley.
The fatal collision happened around 3:10 p.m. on Rock Springs Road, east of Glendale Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Cahill was driving a 1999 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck west on Rock Springs Road when he veered into the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with an oncoming 2023 Jeep Renegade.
Cahill was pronounced dead at the scene by the San Bernardino County coroner's office.
The 16-year-old Hesperia boy driving the Jeep and his front passenger were unhurt.
A rear passenger in the Jeep was hospitalized with minor injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
