A 27-year-old Watsonville man was driving a red Honda Civic eastbound on Castroville Boulevard when he tried to turn left onto northbound Elkhorn Road
Moss Landing, CA – Michael Pacifico Carrillo, 52, of Prunedale, was killed in a moped accident in Moss Landing on Wednesday morning, according to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office.
The crash took place on Castroville Boulevard and Elkhorn Road at about 5:48 a.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 27-year-old Watsonville man was driving a red Honda Civic eastbound on Castroville Boulevard when he tried to turn left onto northbound Elkhorn Road.
Carrillo was driving a red Honda Forza Moped westbound on Castroville Boulevard and collided with the turning vehicle.
CHP said Carrillo was ejected from the moped and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Alcohol is not believed to have played a role in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
