Coachella, CA – A pedestrian was flown to a hospital after a collision in Coachella on Monday morning, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash that took place on Cesar Chavez Street and Avenue 50 at about 8:15 a.m.
According to the report, a vehicle became disabled on eastbound Avenue 50 for unspecified reasons.
A second driver stopped to assist the first motorist and as one of them stood in between the two vehicles, a third driver slammed into them.
The pedestrian was who was standing in between the vehicles was airlifted to a hospital with major injuries.
No further details were released.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
