Police said a vehicle was traveling northbound on I Street when it collided with a pedestrian in the roadway

Eureka, CA – A pedestrian was killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Eureka on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Eureka Police Department.
The accident took place on I Street near 7th Street at about 1:45 p.m. May 23.
Police said a vehicle was traveling northbound on I Street when it collided with a pedestrian in the roadway.
The vehicle continued heading north after hitting the pedestrian and crashed with other vehicles, before leaving the roadway and slamming into a building.
The pedestrian, only identified as a 66-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The conditions of other parties involved in the accident were not specified.
The crash remained under investigation.
