According to the WSP, Martinez was heading eastbound when he crossed into the median and hit the semi driving westbound on the freeway
Zillah, WA. – 57-year-old Jose Martinez of Yakima was identified as a victim killed in a wrong-way collision on Interstate 82 in Zillah last week.
The incident was reported on the westbound 82 Freeway near milepost 47 at around 1:50 p.m.
According to the WSP, Martinez was heading eastbound when he crossed into the median and hit the semi driving westbound on the freeway.
Martinez was pronounced dead at the crash site.
The wreck impacted the freeway for several hours.
More details regarding the collision were not available.
An investigation is underway.
