The DPS said a 39-year-old man from Mesa was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche southbound on northbound SR 87 when he collided with an oncoming Ford F-150 truck

Fountain Hills, AZ – The three people who died following an early Sunday morning wrong-way accident in Fountain Hills have been identified by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The deadly incident took place at around 4:15 a.m. May 26, on State Route 87 near She Boulevard.
The DPS said a 39-year-old man from Mesa was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche southbound on northbound SR 87 when he collided with an oncoming Ford F-150 truck.
Three passengers in the Ford were killed in the crash.
The DPS identified the victims as Victor Perez Coralles, 25, Emilia Rodriquez, 42, and Jesus Guadalupe Nunez-Rodriquez, 26, all from Mesa.
Both drivers were hospitalized with serious injuries.
The crash caused the closure of the northbound lanes of SR 87 as authorities investigated the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
