There were no injuries reported among the 42 passengers who were on the train

Los Angeles, CA. – A pedestrian died after being struck by a Metro A (Blue) Line train on Friday afternoon in South Los Angeles.
The pedestrian accident happened on the 4400 South Long Beach Avenue near Vernon Avenue at around 1:45 p.m.
The pedestrian was trapped underneath the train after being struck and had to be extricated by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The unidentified pedestrian was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
There were no injuries reported among the 42 passengers on the train.
The Los Angeles Police Department Central Traffic Division is investigating the accident.
