Prescott, CA. – One person was killed in a traffic collision Wednesday afternoon near Williamson Valley Road in Prescott.
According to the authorities, the incident happened near Williamson Valley Road and Pioneer Parkway.
A passenger car was stopped northbound at the light at Pioneer Parkway when another passenger vehicle attempted to pass it by using the lane-ending right lane. Both cars collided after the driver was forced to merge into the left lane.
The collision resulted in the second car spinning into the southbound lane, cutting off an oncoming cement mixer. The driver of the cement mixer tried to avoid a crash but ended up hitting the car and then a guardrail.
The driver of the car that hit the mixer was flown to a hospital in critical condition. His wife died on the way to the hospital.
