The incident took place around 2:30 a.m. in the 2600 block of the highway near Molino Avenue.

Long Beach, CA. – 39-year-old David Saltman was the man who died after he was struck by three vehicles early Sunday morning on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner reported.
Two of the cars involved in the accident fled the scene.
The incident took place around 2:30 a.m. in the 2600 block of the highway near Molino Avenue.
According to authorities, Saltman was crossing the roadway outside of a crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle that did not stop to render aid. The pedestrian was then struck by a 2017 Kia Sportage. The driver of the second car stopped and contacted authorities.
At the time the driver was waiting for authorities to respond, the pedestrian was struck by a white truck and dragged east of Molino Avenue. The driver of the truck also fled the scene.
Long Beach police are investigating the accident.

Long Beach, California: A man died after he was struck by three vehicles early Sunday morning on Pacific Coast Highway, Long Beach police said.
Two of the vehicles involved in the crash fled the scene.
Police said the man was crossing PCH northbound outside of a crosswalk near the Molino Avenue intersection when he was struck by an eastbound car whose driver fled the scene.
Just after the accident, a 2017 Kia Sportage traveling eastbound ran over the man, who was lying in the roadway. The driver of the Kia stopped after the crash and called 911.
A third vehicle, described as a white truck, also hit the pedestrian and dragged him east of Molino Avenue before fleeing the scene.
The man died at the scene.
The driver of the Kia cooperated with responding police officers.
An investigation is ongoing.
