Littlerock, CA. – A Los Angeles County firefighter died, and another was hospitalized after a vehicle fire that occurred Friday afternoon in Littlerock.

Authorities said firefighters responded to the quarry after they were notified about a vehicle fire.
As the firefighters were at the scene, an explosion occurred, severely injuring one firefighter. The 19-year veteran based in Palmdale died in the blast.
Another firefighter was taken to Antelope Valley Medical Center with burns not considered serious. The victim was expected to be treated and released.
Authorities are investigating to determine what transpired leading to the incident.
