Bakersfield, CA – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a Bakersfield Police Department patrol vehicle early Monday morning, according to authorities.
The incident took place on South Union Avenue at about 3:30 a.m.
Authorities said the officers were responding to a call when their vehicle, traveling northbound on South Union
Avenue, collided with a pedestrian in the roadway.
The victim, who was not identified, died at the scene of the accident.
One officer reportedly sustained minor injuries.
Authorities are working to determine the cause of the collision.
