Oakland, CA. – A pedestrian died after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver Friday night at an intersection in East Oakland, the Oakland Police Department said.
The accident was reported around 8:15 p.m. on International Boulevard and 102nd Avenue.
Investigators said a man was in the westbound bus lane of International Boulevard when a 2011 BMW 535i came speeding down the lane and hit the pedestrian, sending him into the eastbound lane of traffic.
Emergency personnel pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
The driver fled the scene. Police later found the car, but they are still searching for the driver.
