Montecito, CA – The teenager who was hit and killed by a train in Montecito Wednesday afternoon has been identified as Ryan Bradley Chapman, 15, of Santa Barbara, according to the authorities.
The crash happened at about 1:40 p.m. in the area near 1700 Fernald Point Lane.
Chapman was reportedly walking with other minors along the train tracks just prior to Chapman being struck by the train.
Emergency crews who responded to the scene performed life-saving measures on Chapman but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation.
