WSCO officials said Deputy Rich Thompson was heading home in his scooter when a car hit him for reasons still under investigation.

Beaverton, OR. – An off-duty deputy was hit and killed by a vehicle on Wednesday evening in Beaverton, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office (WCSO).
The deadly crash occurred at about 5:00 p.m. on June 19, Baseline Road at Southwest 201st Avenue.
WSCO officials said Deputy Rich Thompson was heading home in his scooter when a car hit him for reasons still under investigation.
He was declared dead at the crash site.
Washington County Interagency Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART responded to the scene and is investigating the incident, led by the Forest Grove Police Department.
