Police said a 33-year-old man driving a GMC Yukon west on Lenox Drive was allegedly distracted by the sun's rays when he struck a 67-year-old woman walking in the roadway

San Diego, CA – An elderly woman was hit and injured by a vehicle in the Emerald Hills neighborhood of San Diego on Tuesday evening, according to the authorities.
The crash took place in the 5100 block of Lenox Drive at about 6:30 a.m. June 25.
Police said a 33-year-old man driving a GMC Yukon west on Lenox Drive was allegedly distracted by the sun's rays when he struck a 67-year-old woman walking in the roadway.
The victim was taken to a hospital with a laceration to her scalp and an open fracture to her left ankle.
Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
