, CA. – Authorities have released the identity of a victim killed after a traffic collision on Friars Road in San Diego last month.

John Gregory Lawlor, 87, of San Diego was involved in a wreck at around 5:14 p.m. on May 31 in the 6000 block of Friars Road near Gaines Street.

Reportedly, Lawlor was driving a 2017 Infiniti and was attempting to make a left turn onto Friars from Gaines Street when he was struck by a 2008 Toyota 4Runner driven by a 27-year-old man.

Lawlor was rushed to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he died two days later.

San Diego, CA. – An elderly man was hospitalized after being injured in a car crash in the Morena area of San Diego on Friday evening.

The collision happened around 5:14 p.m. in the 6000 block of Friars Road near Gaines Street, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The 87-year-old man was driving a 2017 Infiniti and was attempting to make a left turn onto Friars from Gaines Street when she was struck by a 2008 Toyota 4Runner driven by a 27-year-old man.

The elderly man suffered fractures to his back, facial injuries, and internal bleeding.

The driver of the Toyota and a passenger in the Infiniti were hospitalized with minor injuries.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
