Los Angeles, CA. – A 2-year-old boy underwent surgery after he was struck by a car early Tuesday morning in Exposition Park, authorities said.

Police said the toddler reportedly left a nearby home by himself and got hit by a vehicle while in the middle of the road.
Emergency personnel took the child to the hospital where he underwent surgery. The toddler remained in stable condition.
The driver involved stopped and remained at the scene. Speed and impairment were not considered contributing factors.
No other details were given, but an investigation is ongoing.
