Malibu, CA. – One person was killed and two others were hurt following a head-on collision on Thursday night in Malibu, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The deadly accident happened at about 10:00 p.m. on July 4, on Pacific Coast Highway near Carbon Canyon Road.
Per the dispatch, a white sedan and a black SUV collided head-on in unclear circumstances.
One person sustained fatal injuries while two others were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The sedan and the SUV sustained significant front-end damage following the collision.
Police closed both directions of Pacific Coast Highway for several hours due to the crash. The roadway was re-opened as of 8:30 a.m. on Friday.
An investigation is ongoing.
