At Least One Person Injured in Collision on SR-70 and SR-49 in Chilcoot

Plumas County, CA. – At least one person sustained major injuries in a two-vehicle collision that took place Monday afternoon in Plumas County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident was reported around 4:06 p.m. on State Route 70 at State Route 49 in the unincorporated community of Chilcoot.

The crash involved a Toyota Tacoma pickup with a camper shell and a sedan.

Plumas County firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and found debris from the collision scattered in the roadway, and the vehicles stopped off the road. The pickup had major front-end damage and a broken left-front tire.

At least one person was taken to the hospital with major injuries.

Both vehicles were towed away from the scene.

The eastbound lane of SR-70 was shut down following the accident.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision.
