The Oregon State Police responded to the wreck at the intersection of State Route 26 at Northwest Columbia Drive at around 9:11 a.m. on July 6.
Jefferson County, OR. – Authorities are investigating a deadly two-vehicle collision on Highway 26 in Jefferson County Saturday morning.
The Oregon State Police responded to the wreck at the intersection of State Route 26 at Northwest Columbia Drive at around 9:11 a.m. on July 6.
Reportedly, a Ford Escape was facing south on Northwest Columbia Drive at the stop sign. The Ford made a right turn onto westbound Highway 26 and entered the path of a westbound GMC Sierra. The GMC struck the driver's side door of the Ford as it entered the lane of travel.
The operator of the Ford was declared deceased at the scene.
The operator of the GMC was not injured during the collision. Two Passengers in the GMC,were transported with minor injuries. A third passenger in the GMC, Gavin Lee Pilant ,21, of Beaverton, was not injured.
No additional details regarding the mishap were provided.
The wreck remains under investigation.
