Officer Bowen was on a police motorcycle traveling northbound on Leisure Town Road when he initiated a traffic stop

Vacaville, CA – Matthew Bowen, 32, has been identified as the police officer who was killed in a motorcycle collision in Vacaville on Thursday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck took place on Leisure Town Road and Orange Drive.
Officer Bowen was on a police motorcycle traveling northbound on Leisure Town Road when he initiated a traffic stop.
The officer was then struck by a vehicle being driven by Serena C. J. Rodriguez, 24, of Auburn.
Three other vehicles were also caught up in the wreck.
Officer Bowen was rushed to Kaiser Vacaville Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Rodriguez was arrested and booked into the Solano County Jail on charges of homicide and DUI causing injury or death.
The crash remained under investigation.
