Driver Hurt, Ontario City Councilmember Jim Bowman Arrested After 2-Car Accident at Euclid Avenue and Mission Boulevard

Ontario, CA.- Ontario City Councilmember Jim Bowman was arrested following an alleged DUI hit-and-run crash that injured one person on Monday evening in Ontario.

According to the Ontario Police Department, the accident happened a while after 5:00 p.m. on July 8, at Euclid Avenue and Mission Boulevard.

Police said 911 callers reported a two-vehicle crash at the intersection.

Officers responded to the scene. Witnesses told officials one of the vehicles fled the scene.

A while later, the driver who fled the scene called 911 and said he was at Locust Street and Laurel Avenue. Police went to the second location where they found the driver later identified as Ontario City Councilmember Jim Bowman.

Investigations revealed Bowman to be at fault and he was arrested.

Bowman and the other driver were taken to the hospital for treatment. The other driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The two were later released.

Bowman's case is still under investigation for alleged DUI and hit-and-run with injuries. The San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office is expected to review the case.

An investigation is ongoing.
