Police said Jesus Bartolo, 30, of Santa Ana was driving a silver Toyota Camry in the area when he struck Roman. Bartolo did not stop at the scene after the accident.
Newport Beach, CA. – 46-year-old Roman Lizaola-Montano of Santa Ana has been identified as the pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Tuesday night in Newport Beach, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
The fatal collision occurred at Jamboree Road and Sea Vista Drive a while before 9:40 p.m. July 16.
Police said Jesus Bartolo, 30, of Santa Ana was driving a silver Toyota Camry in the area when he struck Roman. Bartolo did not stop after the accident.
The Newport Beach Police Department officials pursued the suspect vehicle and arrested the driver at Jamboree Road and Santa Barbara Drive.
Bartolo was booked into jail on felony hit-and-run. He was later bailed out.
An investigation is underway.
