The California Highway Patrol said the pileup was reported around 12:40 a.m. on southbound Highway 101, just north of the Hearn Avenue on-ramp.
Four vehicles were involved in the accident.
At least one person suffered minor injuries in the collision. Paramedics responded to the scene and offered medical aid to the victim.
All southbound lanes of the highway were blocked following the crash.
CHP officers are investigating the collision.
