A silver four-door BMW driven by a 53-year-old man struck Sissell in unclear circumstances.
Marion County, OR. – 61-year-old Michael Sissell of Salem was killed in a pedestrian accident near State Street in Marion County Sunday morning.
According to the Salem County Sheriff's Office, the wreck happened just before 10 a.m. near State Street and 47th Avenue.

Sissell was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved remained at the crash site and cooperated with the officers.
