Rancho Murieta, CA. – According to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, four persons were injured, two critically hurt after a traffic collision on Monday night in Rancho Murieta.
The major crash occurred at Jackson Road and Murrieta Drive at about 8:15 p.m.
Police confirmed that two vehicles were involved in the collision. One of the cars sustained significant front-end damage and was engulfed in flames following the crash. The second vehicle driver's side had significant heavy damage.
Four persons were injured in the crash and were hospitalized. Two sustained severe injuries and were listed in critical condition, while the two others sustained minor injuries due to the collision.
A fifth individual was injured in the crash, but they declined medical aid.
Authorities said that though they had not determined the cause of the collision, the photos of the scene showed that the car damage resembled a T-bone or broadside accident.
The incident remains under investigation.
