Imperial Beach, CA.- The motorcycle rider who was killed in a crash in Imperial Beach on Thursday morning has been identified as Petty Officer 2nd Class Maximillian Herr, 24, of Wisconsin.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, the accident happened on Donax Avenue and 13th Street just before 8:30 a.m. August 1.
Herr was riding a motorcycle when he was hit by a Ford F-150, the deputies said.
According to the report, Herr was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision.
Impairment was not believed to have played a role in the incident.
The crash is under investigation.
