A 40-year-old Arvin male passenger of the Toyota Corolla was taken to Kern Medical where he died later that day

Bakersfield, CA. – A 40-year-old man succumbed to injuries he sustained in a Friday morning car crash in Arvin.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 5:43 a.m. on South Edison Road at Herring Road.
A 24-year-old Arvin man was driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla southbound on South Edison Road when he collided with a 2023 Toyota Tacoma that was traveling westbound on Herring Road.
A 40-year-old Arvin male passenger of the Toyota Corolla sustained severe injuries and was taken to Kern Medical where he died later that day.
Both drivers and multiple passengers from both vehicles were taken to Adventist Health and Kern Medical for treatment of minor to moderate injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
