Otay Mesa, CA – The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office has identified a 37-year-old man who was struck and killed by a vehicle in the Otay Mesa area of San Diego earlier this month, according to a report.
The Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as Manuel Alfredo Mendoza, 37, of San Diego.
According to the San Diego Police Department, Mendoza was crossing the street when he was struck by a 2010 Toyota Rav4 SUV traveling westbound within the 4200 block of Del Sol Boulevard.
Paramedics responded to the scene and provided life-saving measures while transporting Mendoza to UC San Diego Medical Center.
Unfortunately, Mendoza succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Reports indicate that the 77-year-old female driver of the SUV failed to stop at the stop sign and hit the Mendoza.
The incident remains under investigation

Otay Mesa, CA.- A 37-year-old man was hit and killed by a vehicle in the Otay Mesa area of San Diego on Friday evening, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The crash took place at Del Sol Boulevard and Kostner Drive at about 6:58 p.m. on August 2.
Police said the man was walking across the street when he was hit by a 2010 Toyota Rav4 driven by a 77-year-old woman.
According to the report, the woman failed to stop at the stop sign and hit the pedestrian.
The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Impairment was not suspected to have played a role in the accident, the CHP said.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
