A preliminary investigation revealed a car driven by a 24-year-old Sunnyside woman was going eastbound on the freeway when she attempted to change lanes and hit a large flatbed truck also going eastbound.
Kittitas County, WA. – Sergion J. Fernandez Granados, 10, was identified by the Washington State Police as a boy killed in a Kittitas County car crash Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened at around 4:00 p.m. on the eastbound Interstate 82.
A preliminary investigation revealed a car driven by a 24-year-old Sunnyside woman was going eastbound on the freeway when she attempted to change lanes and hit a large flatbed truck also traveling eastbound.
Granados, who was a passenger in the vehicle, died at the scene.
The woman and another child, age 8, were not hurt.
The driver of the flatbed truck, a 37-year-old man from Mexico, also was not injured.
No additional details regarding the mishap were provided.
The wreck remains under investigation.
