Paul Insch, Harpreet Singh Hurt in Deadly Maricopa Crash on Highway 166

, CA.- Paul M. Insch, 72, of , and Harpreet Singh, 24, of , were both injured in a deadly collision that occurred near Maricopa on Monday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened on Highway 166 on Monday, September 23.

The CHP said a Freightliner was traveling south on Highway 166 when it drifted into the northbound lanes and collided with an oncoming Toyota Tundra pickup driven by Insch.

A passenger in the pickup, a 70-year-old Lompoc woman, was killed in the crash.

Insch sustained major injuries and was flown to Kern Medical for treatment.

The driver of the Freightliner, identified as Singh, was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
