Fresno, CA. – A man was hospitalized after a car blew a tire, causing the driver to lose control early Tuesday morning near an intersection in north Fresno.
According to authorities, the incident took place just before 2:30 a.m. at Blackstone and Rialto avenues.
The driver of a car told police that he had a tire blowout, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle, hit a hydrant, a signpost, and a man.
The driver said he did not know he had hit a pedestrian until after the crash.
The victim, only identified as a man, was taken to the hospital with injuries to his leg and head.
The roadway was closed for crews to repair the broken hydrant that caused water to spew into the air.
