BPD said their investigation found that a man driving a Dodge Durango was headed west on East Truxtun Avenue when he rear-ended the other vehicle stopped along the north curb line.
Bakersfield, CA. – Victor Medina has been identified by the family as the man killed in a crash that claimed 47-year-old Lorena DeLatorre in Bakersfield last month.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident happened at around 11:14 p.m. September 28 in the 1200 block of East Truxtun Avenue.
BPD said their investigation found that a man driving a Dodge Durango was headed west on East Truxtun Avenue when he rear-ended the other vehicle stopped along the north curb line.
Officers arrived and found Lorena DeLatorre with severe injuries. She later died at the scene.
Medina was rushed to the hospital, in critical condition, where he died days later.
The cause of the mishap remains under investigation.

Bakersfield, CA. – A woman was killed in a rear-end collision late Saturday night in East Bakersfield.
The Bakersfield Police Department said the wreck was reported in the 1200 block of East Truxtun Avenue at around 11:14 p.m. September 28.
A preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a Dodge Durango was driving west on East Truxtun Avenue when he rear-ended the other vehicle driven by the deceased which was stopped.
The woman, whose name was not disclosed, died at the crash site while her passenger was hospitalized in a nearby facility with severe injuries.
The Durango driver was not injured .
Speed and alcohol impairment are believed to be factors in the crash.
An investigation is underway.
