Motorcyclist Hurt in Apple Valley Accident on Apple Valley Road and Catalina Road

, CA. – A rider was flown to the hospital following a traffic collision involving a pickup on Thursday morning in Apple Valley, according to authorities.

The accident happened at around 8:46 a.m. on Apple Valley Road and Catalina Road.

Police said a blue and white Ducati and a gold older model Toyota Tacoma crashed for unknown reasons.

Fire officials and medics rushed to the scene to aid the rider. The motorcyclist was taken to the helicopter landing pad at St. Mary's Medical Center and then flown to University Medical Center.

The current condition of the motorcyclist was not revealed.

The pickup driver and his female passenger were not hurt in the crash.

A light fixture was damaged and was lying in the roadway following the crash. It was removed by the Southern California Edison (SCE) employees.

Authorities closed southbound lanes of Apple Valley Road at Sitting Bull Road to give way for a clearing operation.

An investigation by the Apple Valley Police Department is ongoing.
