Sherman Oaks, CA. – A 78-year-old man was hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision that took place Tuesday afternoon in Sherman Oaks, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
The incident took place around 1:25 p.m. at the 4300 block of North Calhoun Avenue near Ventura Boulevard.
Two vehicles collided for an unknown reason.
A 78-year-old man was taken to the hospital in fair condition.
A fire hydrant was also hit in the collision. Water from the broken hydrant spewed into the air and hit the roof of the DBA Guitar Center at 14209 Ventura Boulevard, causing partial collapse.
The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety was requested to respond and evaluate the building.
