Villa Park, CA. – A construction worker died, and another was hospitalized after an accident that took place Thursday morning in a gym at Villa Park High School.
The incident was reported just before 10:30 a.m. in a construction zone at the school in the 10800 block of Taft Avenue.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department and the Orange County Fire Authority responded to the scene and found two adult patients at the scene.
One of the patients was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other patient was taken to a local trauma center in unknown condition.
The victims were construction workers who were reportedly working on renovations at the school's gym.
Details about the accident were not given, but possibly involved bleachers.
Personnel from the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (CAL/OSHA) also responded to the scene.
