Diamond Bar, CA.- The man who killed in a car accident in Diamond Bar on Friday night has been identified as Andres Mercado, 36, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash on Highway 60 near Philips Ranch Road at around 10:30 p.m. December 6.
According to CHP, Guadalupe Mercado, 32, of Chino, was driving a Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 SUV recklessly eastbound on the Pomona Freeway when he drifted into the right shoulder and crashed into a parked semi-trailer.
The impact sent the SUV back into the traffic lanes and it slammed into the back of another big rig.
A passenger in the SUV, identified as Andres Mercado, was killed in the accident.
Guadalupe Mercado was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital with major injuries and was later arrested on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
The crash is under investigation.
