Bell, CA – A construction worker who died early early Saturday mornig after he was hit by a truck operated by a co-worker in the city of Bell has been identified.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified the vicrim as Jose Arias Barrientos, 57, of Los Angeles.
According to Bell police, Barrientos was welding metal in the street at aproximately 3 a.m. on December 7 in the area of Gage and Heliotrope avenues when he was struck by the construction truck.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene and was questioned and released.
Bell police said the incident appeared to be an accident.

Bell, CA.- A construction worker was hit and killed by a truck at a construction site in Bell on Saturday morning, according to the Bell Police Department.
The incident took place near Gage and Heliotrope avenues shortly before 3 a.m. December 7.
The worker was reportedly on duty when they were hit by a work truck driven by a coworker.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The operator of the truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing
