Modesto, CA. – A 59-year-old man died after he was run over by a car Tuesday afternoon in Modesto, authorities reported.
The incident took place around 6:45 p.m. on South 9th Street, south of River Road.
Police reported that a man was, for an unknown reason, lying in the roadway when a 2012 Fiat sedan driven southbound by a female driver ran over the man.
First responders found the victim lying in the roadway with fatal injuries.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
