Citrus Heights, CA.- A bicyclist was hit and killed by a vehicle in Citrus Heights on Monday night, according to the Citrus Heights Police Department.
The crash happened on Van Maren Road near Mercedes Avenue at about 9:45 p.m. December 23.
According to the report, an unidentified person was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle in the area.
The victim was rushed to a hospital, where the victim later died.
The driver stayed at the scene after the crash.
Police reported that alcohol or drugs may have contributed to the incident.
The accident is under investigation.
